... The Ouroboros ...

... (also spelled Orobourus, Uroboros or Uroborus) is an Ancient symbol depicting a Snake or Dragon swallowing its tail, constantly creating itself and forming a circle.

The Ouroborus, of course, is a symbol of cycled/re-cycled energy. Associated with Alchemy, Gnosticism, and Hermeticism, it represents Immortality ... the cyclical nature of things, eternal return, and all other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end .....

In some representations the Serpent is shown as half light and half dark, echoing symbols such as the Yin Yang, which illustrates the dual nature of all things, but more importantly, that these opposites are not in conflict.

Mathematically, the 'Ouroboros' is an example of 'recursion' (re-iteration) and self-reference ..... (Oroborus Numbers in binary systems and the Chinese Oracle the 'I Ching')

In Alchemy, the Ouroborus symbolises the circular nature of the alchemist's 'Magnum Opus' which unites the opposites - the conscious and unconscious mind.
The Dragons of the Hongshan culture can be traced to the 5th millennium BC. The Serpent or Dragon eating its own tail has survived from Antiquity and can be seen in Ancient Egypt, circa 1600 BC.
From Ancient Egypt it passed to Phoenicia and then to the Greek philosophers, who gave it the name Ouroboros ('the tail-devourer').

It is believed by some to have been inspired by the Milky Way, as there are Ancient texts which refer to a Serpent of Light residing in the heavens

In Norse mythology it appears as the Serpent Jormungandr one of the 3 children of Loki...

In Hindu mythology, the Dragon circles the Tortoise which supports the four Elephants that carry the World.

The Serpent or Dragon also appears in Aztec, Chinese, and Native American mythology ....

The Ancients understood concepts wtich we are now just beginning to grasp .....

Among many other things ...
..... The Oroborus is in-deed one way of depicting Mitochondrial DNA ....

The Cosmic Uroboros represents the Universe as a continuity of vastly different size scales, of which the largest and smallest may be linked by gravity.
Sixty orders of magnitude separate the very smallest from the very largest ..

.

.

Traveling around the Serpent from Head to Tail, we move from the scale of the Cosmic horizon to that of a Galaxy Supercluster, a Single Galaxy, the Solar System, the Sun, the Moon, a mountain, a human, a single-celled creature, a strand of DNA, an atom, a nucleus, the scale of the weak interactions, and approaching the tail the extremely small size scales in which we find evidence for SuperSymmetry, Dark Matter particles such as the axion, and the Grand Unified Theory ...

'AS ABOVE ...

... SO BELOW'

There are many other vitally important connections between large and small. Electromagnetic forces operate infinitely ... from the scale of atoms to that of galaxies ... and both these so-called  'strong' and 'weak' forces  govern both atomic nuclei and stars,  giving rise to the large-scale 'Universe' born from Quantum-scale fluctuations ...

... And of course ....

                         DE ARCANUS MYSTERION SERPENTIS

The Ancient Mysteries of the Serpent

All over the World we see the Trail of the Serpent ...

Serpent Worship in one form or another has appeared in every single culture in every corner of the Earth ...

... The Serpent mounds of the American Indian ... Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent and the carved-stone snakes of Central and South America ...

The Hopi Indians consider the Serpent to be in close communication with the Earth Spirit. Therefore, at the time of their annual Snake Dance they send their prayers to the Earth Spirit by first specially sanctifying large numbers of these Reptiles and then liberating them to return to the Earth with the prayers of the Tribe ...

... Python, the Great Snake of the Greeks ...

The Sacred Serpents of the Druids ... Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent of Scandinavia ... the Nagas of Burma, Siam, and Cambodia ... the hooded Cobras of India ...the Brazen Serpent of the Jews ...

... The Mystic Serpent of Orpheus ...

... The Serpents at the Oracle of Delphi, entwining themselves around the Tripod Throne upon which the Pythian Priestess (Pythonesses) sat, the tripod itself also being in the form of twisted Serpents ...

... The Sacred Serpents preserved in the Egyptian Temples ... The Uraeus coiled upon the foreheads of the Pharaohs, Queens, Priestesses and Priests. The portals of Egyptian Temples, decorated with the hieroglyph of the Circle and the Serpent ...

The Serpent is found upon the Temple of Naki-Rustan in Persia ...on the triubmphal arch at Pechin, in China ...over the gates of the great Temple of Chaundi Teeva, in Java ... and upon the walls of Athens ...

... All of these bear witness to the Universal Veneration and High Esteem in which the Serpent was held ...

In the Ancient Mystery Schools the Serpent-entwined Staff of Hermes was the Symbol of Healing .... and, In-Deed, still it remains so, even to the present day, for it is the emblem of the modern medical profession ...

Among all Ancient peoples the Serpent was accepted as the Symbol of Wisdom and/or Salvation.

The antipathy which Christendom feels towards the Serpent is based upon the totally misunderstood allegory of the Garden of Eden.

The Serpent is True to the Principle of Wisdom, for it gives humanity the knowledge of the True S-Elf ...

The Tree of Life growing in the midst of the 'Garden of Eden' is symbolic of the spinal column ...

... The Knowledge of the Use of this spinal energy or 'Serpent Fire' (Kundalini) is the great Gift of the Serpent It-S-Elf ...

The Initiates of the Mysteries were often referred to as Serpents or Pythons, and their Wisdom was very highly regarded, In-Deed ...

The Serpent has long been viewed as the emblem of Immortality.

It is the symbol of Reincarnation, or Metamorphosis, because it annually sheds its skin, reappearing, as it were, in a new body.

In 'Isis Unveiled', H. P. Blavatsky makes this significant statement concerning the Origin of Serpent Worship: ...

'Before our globe had become egg-shaped or round it was a long trail of cosmic dust or fire-mist, moving and writhing like a serpent. This, say the explanations, was the Spirit moving on the Chaos until its breath had incubated cosmic matter and made it assume the annular shape of a serpent with its tail in its month - emblem of eternity in its spiritual and of our world in its physical sense'.

The Coils of the Serpent symbolize DNA ...

The 'Dragon' or 'Serpent', also represented the geomagnetic grid of the Earth or 'ley lines', also called 'dragon lines', along with the electro-magnetic energy forces, they contain.

China has a science, which they have known about and studied for centuries, dedicated to the 'use' of landscapes, following these dragon lines, called 'Feng Shui'. It is known, for example, that 'free energy' can be harnessed from these energy grids.

Ancient Astrologers referred to the North Node of the Moon as 'Caput Draconis' or the 'Head of the Dragon', and the South Node of the Moon 'Cauda Draconis' or the 'Tail of the Dragon' ...

... THE ORPHIC EGG ...

The symbol of the 'Orphic Egg', (the Serpent twisted around the Egg), which was common to many of the Ancient Mystery schools, represented both the motion and also the orbits of the celestial bodies, the motion of the Sun around the Earth ...

... And also the magnetic field of the Earth ... the bands of Astral Light, or the Great Magical Agent, (visible as the Aurora and Australis Borealis) which move and writhe around the planet incessantly ...

On an Alchemical level, the Black Serpent embodies the Lunar Circuit ... the feminine mystery of creation and is related to the Void, the Source from which all things are created ... The Gold Serpent, embodies the Solar Circuit ... the male aspect of creation and is related to Light ...

Electricity was commonly symbolized by the Serpent because of its motion. Electricity passing between the poles of a spark gap is serpentine in its motion. Such forces projected through atmosphere were referred to as The Great Snake.

Being symbolic of Universal Force, the Serpent was emblematic of both good and evil.

A Sublime Trueth In-Deed, for Force is necessary to both create and destroy ...

... OROBORUS ...

The Serpent with its tail in its mouth, the 'Oroborus', is the Symbol of Eternity, for in this circular position the body of the Serpent has neither beginning nor end ...

Carl G Jung saw the Oroboros as an Archetype and the 'basic Mandala' of Alchemy. Jung also defined the relationship of the Oroboros within the context of Alchemy ...

"The Alchemists, who in their own way knew more about the nature of the individuation process than we moderns do, expressed this paradox through the symbol of the oroboros, the snake that eats its own tail. In the age-old image of the uroboros lies the thought of devouring oneself and turning oneself into a circulatory process, for it was clear to the more astute alchemists that the prima materia of the art was man himself.
The oroboros is a dramatic symbol for the integration and assimilation of the opposite, i.e. of the shadow.
This 'feed-back' process is at the same time a symbol of immortality, since it is said of the oroboros that he slays himself and brings himself to life, fertilises himself and gives birth to himself. He symbolises the One, who proceeds from the clash of opposites, and he therefore constitutes the secret of the prima materia which unquestionably stems from man's unconscious ...'

THE ANCIENT TEMPLE OF THE SOVEREIGN DRAGON

Aulae Anticus De Draconis Aniceti

A.A.D.D.A

It is said that in the beginning of the world, Winged Serpents reigned upon the Earth. These were the demigods which predate the historical civilization of Every Nation ...

The title 'Seraphim' meaning 'Winged Fiery Serpents' was given to one of the hierarchies that ruled the Earth during its early formation ...

The ability manifested by Reptiles to move suddenly and swiftly has caused them to be associated with Mercury/Hermes, the Messenger of the Gods, whose winged feet traveled infinite distances almost instantaneously.

A point which must not be overlooked in connection with Reptiles in symbolism is the fact that Reptiles possess two Pineal glands ... an anterior and a posterior ... of which the posterior remains relatively undeveloped, while the anterior forms a rudimentary, cyclopean eye. In the 'Hatteria' Lizard, native to New Zealand, this 'Third Eye' actually projects through the parietal foramen and presents an imperfect lens and retina and, in its long stalk, numerous nerve fibers ...

... SOBEKH ...

Sobekh symbolized the might of the Egyptian Pharaohs. Depicted as a Crocodile or in human form with the head of a Crocodile, crowned either by a pair of plumes or sometimes by a combination of the Solar Disk and the Uraeus Serpent (Cobra).

Two distinct species of Crocodiles existed and were worshipped in Ancient Egypt. Crocodiles, while under water, are capable of seeing with great clarity, even though its eyes are covered by a thin membrane ...

The Egyptians noted that wherever the Crocodile laid its eggs, it would be at that level where the Nile would reach in its next inundation, the Crocodile being endowed with a mysterious sense capable of making known the extent of the flood months before it took place.

According to some evidence, Sobekh was considered a fourfold deity who represented the four elemental gods (Ra of fire, Shu of air, Geb of earth, and Osiris of water).

Sobekh was worshipped in cities such as the oasis city of Arsinoe (Crocodilopolis), where the reptiles were kept in pools and adorned with jewels. Hundreds of crocodiles have been found mummified near Fayyum.

The Temple of Kom Ombo was once the Sanctuary for a large number of Crocodiles, and the center of worship for Sobek ... still standing, and open to the public for viewing ...

Temple of Sobek at Kom Ombo

Walls in one section of the temples are decorated with the images of surgical instruments. The images of scalpels, pincers, forceps, and other medical tools, shows that the ancient Egyptians were skilled medical professionals. The Temples were built during the Ptolemaic period, between 300-380 BC.

In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, it is told that Sobek waits with Typhon waits to devour all who fail to pass the Rite of Judgment in the Hall of Justice which lies between the Earthplane and the Other Real-M-S ...

... URAEUS SERPENT ...

In Ancient Egypt, the Cobra or Uraeus Serpent symbolized Divine Protection and Enlightenment, adorning the Crowns of the Pharoahs ... the living embodiments of the Neter/Gods and Neterts/Goddesses, with the Uraeus/Cobra of the Crown sitting directly on the Sixth Seal/Chakra ... (the 'Third Eye'/Pineal gland) ...

The Uraeus Serpent being a Sacred Symbol of  their Divine Attributes and their Conscious State of Ascended Enlightenment

Wadjet (Wadjyt, Wadjit, Uto, Uatchet, Edjo, Buto) was one of the oldest Egyptian Goddesses. Her worship was already established by the Predynastic Period, but changed somewhat as time progressed.

She began as the local Goddess of Per-Wadjet (Buto) but soon became a Goddess of Lower Egypt. By the end of the Predynastic Period she was considered to be the personification of Lower Egypt rather than a distinct Goddess and almost always appeared with her sister Nekhbet (who represented Upper Egypt ).

The two combined represented the country as a whole and were represented in the pharaoh´s 'Nebty' (also known as 'the two ladies') indicating rulership over both parts of Egypt.

The earliest recovered example of the Nebty name is from the reign of Anedjib of the First Dynasty.

In the Pyramid Texts it is suggested that she created the first papyrus plant and papyrus swamp. Her link to the papyrus is strengthened by the fact that her name was often written using the glyph of a papyrus plant and the same plant was the heraldic plant of Lower Egypt.

The Egypt word 'Wadj' means 'Papyrus' but also 'Joy' and "Green'.

Her Sacred Symbol was the Cobra, and she was often depicted as either a rearing Cobra, a Winged Cobra, or a Woman with the head of a Cobra.

Renenutet (Rennut, Renenet, Thermouthis, Thermuthis, Hermouthis) was depicted as a raised Cobra with the sun disk and horns on her head, or two tall feathers and the solar disk.

Alternately, Renenutet was shown as a woman with a Cobra's head, sometimes nursing her son Nepri.

Like Isis, Renenutet's cult survived the rise of Christianity.

During the Ptolemaic period, she was renamed Thermuthis by the Greeks. Greco-Roman terracottas of that time show Thermuthis as a form of Isis with a snake's head on a woman's body.

Interestingly enough, according to the 1st century historian Josephus, Thermuthis is the name of Moses' Egyptian foster mother. Although the Bible simply calls her the 'daughter of Pharoah' ...

THE DRAGONS CALL

Dragons play an intrinsic role all over the world in myths and legends of all cultures ...

The Dragon as a Primordial Being of Chaos, has been viewed with both respect and fear.

Christian dogma has taken this fear to extreme levels and as a symbol of life force the Dragon Archetype has been repressed, just as has humanity's life force has also been suppressed. When the Dragon is thrown into the abyss, so too is our life force.

Draconian Magick is thus a Path into the Abyss to awaken the life force. Christian dogma and the 'dragon slayer' myths are not only descriptions of how the Ancient Pagan Traditions were suppressed and conquered by the monotheistic religions, but also how the life force is deactivated.

The Serpent in the Garden of Eden is one of the most powerful archetypes of initiation. It corresponds to the Kundalini, which certainly is the bringer of knowledge and a hidden teacher. The serpent in the garden of Eden (Lilith) personifies this Kundalini aspect, the dynamic life force.

All Magick which involves the use of Kundalini can be said to be 'sex magic'.

However, this is not 'sex' in a mundane way ... rather it is the utilization of tantric techniques and workings with the different aspects of Kundalini such as Prana, Chi, Vril, Od …etc

Arousal of Kundalini produces ecstacy, triggers superconsciousness, opens the occult faculties, and releases waves of healing energy that balance physiological and hormonal secretions throughout the body. Activated Kundalini is also a powerful protection against negative forces.

This Draconian pulse is pure energy, and the Magician can direct the Journey with his Will and is not a passive passenger. To work with this Force is truly a Great Work.

Everyone can awaken 'Kundalini', but to channel this force in a magical work demands great effort. The outcome of this work is closely related to the system in which the Magician works.

In the book 'The Secret Doctrine' by H. P. Blavatsky, it is stated that worship of the Dragon and the Sun were universal on the earthplane ...

"The tradition of the Dragon and the Sun is echoed in every part of the world.…There was a time when the four parts of the world were covered with the temples sacred to the Sun and the Dragon: but the cult is now preserved mostly in China and the Buddhist countries".

In the Hermetic Lore of the Ancient Egyptian Mystery schools, this process of achieving Enlightened Consciousness was of express importance, with spiritual regeneration taking place by degrees through the thirty-three vertebrae of the spinal column (including the tail bones or sacrum and coccyx), until reaching the Pituitary Gland which invokes the Pineal body. The science of this regeneration is one of the 'Lost Keys' of Freemasonry, and it is the reason why ancient Freemasonry was founded upon thirty-three degrees.

The word 'Dragon' is derived from the Latin 'Dracon', which came from the Greek word for Serpent, 'Spakov'.

Spakov can be traced to the Greek verb, 'Spakelv' meaning 'sharp-sighted' (a reference to the perceived good vision of snakes), and is related to many other ancient words to do with sight, such as 'Darc' (Sanskrit for 'see)', 'Derc' (Old Irish for 'eye'), 'Torht' (Old Saxon) and 'Zoraht' (Old High German) which both mean 'clear or bright'.

The distinctions between words that describe Dragons and Serpents are often blurred, and are to some degree interchangeable.

The old German word for Dragon, 'lindwurm', literally means 'snake-worm'. The ancient Anglo-Saxon word 'Wyrm' has been translated as meaning any of 'Dragon', 'Serpent', or 'Worm'.

The prominent Egyptian Mystery school, the Great White Brotherhood of Rameses III (c. 1450 BC) - so called, it is often said, because of their white raiment or white aura, but actually named because of their preoccupation with a mysterious white powder, which through 'high-spin' atomic attunement enabled them to accomplish many feats, including the levitation of huge stone blocks.

According to the Supreme Grand Lodge of the Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis, there were thirty-nine men and women on the High Council of the Brotherhood, who sat at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor.

A branch off this Order became more generally known as the Egyptian Therapeutae, who in Heliopolis and Judaea, were identified as the Essenes.

It was into this White Brotherhood of Wise Therapeutiae and Healers (the original Rosicrucians) that Jesus was later initiated to progress through the degrees, and it was his high standing in this regard which gained him the often used designation of 'Master'... 'Sssaios' ... that is, something Secret or Mystic. (In the Norse tradition, the gods are called the 'Aesir', a word which has a similar root ...)

During the rise of patriarchal religion, the Serpent Brotherhood was forced to go 'underground' in the western countries, but it never completely disappeared.

In Europe, for example, it evolved into numerous Secret Societies, the best known of which were the Knights Templar, the Freemasons and the Rosicrucians ...

... And in the East, the Serpents survived within the traditions of the Sufis, the Chinese Taoists, the Tibetan Lamas, and especially within the Tantric sects of India, from which Kundalini Masters have come for countless numbers of years ...

The Foundational Wisdom of all these branches of the Serpent Brotherhood is focused on how to awaken and develop the Kundalini ... the latent Serpent Power located at the base of the spine, through the practices of Yoga, Meditation, and Alchemy.

All of these are disciplines that originated within the Ancient Goddess Tradition ...

THE DRAGON SOVEREIGNTY

... K-Now ...

Many books tell of the Hermetic Myster school of Tuthmosis III of Egypt, who reigned about 1450 BC ...

However, it is not generally known that the school he originally inherited was the 'Royal Court of the Dragon', which had been founded by the Priests of Mendes in about 2200 BC ...

Thereafter the DragonCourt continued under the patronage of the Priest Prince Ankhfn Khonsu in about 2170 BC ...

Queen Sobekh Nefru

The DragonCourt was formally established as a pharaonic institution by the Twelfth Dynasty Queen Sobekh Nefru (c. 1785 BC), to provide an institution for the study of the work of the 'Dragon of Al-Khem' otherwise known as Thoth or Hermes. From Al-Khem we have Alchemy, the Great Work of the Dragon.

The DragonCourt pursued the teachings of Thoth, (the most famous writings attributed to Thoth/Hermes are 'The Emerald Tablets' and 'The Pymander') which had prevailed from the time of Nimrod’s grandson King Raneb, a Pharaoh of the second dynasty who reigned c. 2852 BC, about three centuries before the Gizeh pyramids are considered to have been built.

... Incidentally ...

... Amenhemet, the predecessor of Queen Sobekh Nefru, was the builder of the Dragon Labyrinth of Fayoum dedicated to Sobekh which was later copied in Crete as the 'Labyrinth of the Minotaur' ...

In those far off times, the Temples and their attendent Priestesses and Priests were not associated with religion as were their later successors in other lands, but rather more with the duties of preserving and teaching the Old Wisdom.

These Temples incorporated Al-khame workshops and it was the obligation of the Temples to maintain the spiritual welfare of the pharaohs, while ensuring the purity of a continuing Royal Bloodline which progressed through the Dragon Queens of the Matrilinear Grail succession ...

This line had descended through the Tuatha de Danaan (the Dragon Kings of Anu) on the one hand, and the Egyptian Dragon Dynasty of Sobek on the other. The latter strain included the Bloodline of the Davidic House of Judah who married into the descent of the Merovingian Kings of the Franks.

The Tenets of the Grail and Dragon traditions are implicit in defining that we should be at one with the earth, and cannot, therefore, presume dominion over it ... (Unlike those who wish to profit unjustifiably from dubious Merovingian descent.)

This philosophy is embedded in the concept of Individual Sovereign Gnosis, and lies at the very Heart of Draconian Culture.

The Dragon Sovereignty had evolved in Egypt from old Mesopotamia and its tradition was vested in Sobek, the Sacred Crocodile (the 'messeh' or 'mus-hus').

It was from the practice of anointing with the oil of the 'messeh' that the Hebrew verb ’mashiach’ (to anoint) derived, and the Dragon dynasts became known as 'Messiahs' (Anointed Ones).

Today, the Sovereign DragonCourt exists as a closed fraternity, a collective of individuals, comprising those who can trace their ancestry and affiliations back to the Ancient, Pre-Christian Elven, Grail and Dragon families.

The Court retains the Traditional Three Tier Degree System to which are appended three separate representations of the Alchemical Ouroboros emblem for the distinct ranks of the Court. (There is also a fourth emblem, reserved for immediate family members)

The Tripartite system was peculiar to the Scythians and Celts, whose Druids incorporated a similar structure within their orders and colleges. It later found expression within the Cathar fraternity of Languedoc and also with the Stregha Witches.

In 525 BC Egypt was conquered by the Persians, whose kings were subsequently ousted by Alexander the Great’s Macedonian army in 332 BC .... This led to the Greek dynasty of the Ptolemies and the well-known Queen Cleopatra VII.  The Roman general Mark Antony caused the final downfall of the Pharaohs, and Egypt was subjugated by Imperial Rome shortly before the time of Jesus. At length, as the Roman Empire collapsed, Egypt fell to Byzantine governors and then, after AD 641, to the sway of Islam.

By that time, the Grail Dynasty from David and Solomon had progressed into the West, notably to the Merovingian kings of Gaul, while related branches established kingdoms in Ireland and Celtic Britain.

These lines were linked through marriage to parallel Dragon strains from Ham, Japhet and Tubal Cain (which had survived as the Royal Houses of Scythia and Anatolia) ...

The Families had forged their own marital links with the early Queens and Princesses of the Egyptian succession and the first PenDragon (PinDar) of the Britannic Isle (Pen Draco Insularis).

From this stock was King Cymbeline of the House of Camu, who was installed in about AD 10.

The Celtic PenDragons were not father to son successors in a particular descent, but were individually elected from reigning Family branches, by a Druidic Council of Elders.

The last 'PenDragon' was Cadwaladr of Gwynedd, who died in AD 664. At around that time much of Britain fell to the Germanic influence of the invading Anglo Saxons and Angle land (England) was born, as distinct from Scotland and Wales.

This coincided with Byzantium’s loss of Egypt to the Caliphs and following the last Roman Emperor in AD 476, a completely new governmental structure evolved in the West ...

... There is an En-Chant-In-G Kin-D of Magick ...

... A Magick Witch resides within our Serpentine Spirits that resonates with Nature's breathtaking abundant Beauty and in Her Magnificence and Power when manifested in Storms ... in Silence ... and in the Incomprehensible Immense Intelligence of the Cosmos ...

The Ancients understood this Enchantment and embodied its Force in Symbols and Stories that not only transmit Wisdom, but also Awaken the Spirit ...

In China, the Dragon, whose characterizations are the loftiest and most mystical of the spiritually-endowed creatures, is referred to by two names ...

1. 'Na-chia' (Sanskrit 'Naga'), meaning a Wise One, an Arhat, Lohan, Brujo or Shaman ... One who having traveled the Four Paths is Master of Life and of Truth ... and ...

2. 'Lung-shen', a Dragon-Spirit, a person possessing Divine Wisdom and Virtue, or a Celestial inhabiting the body of a human ....

In another usage, the Dragon symbolizes the Divine Spirit that resides in the Heart of Every Being ...
